We are continuing our work to plant trees along Historic Belmont Blvd. in Nashville. This is a great opportunity to showcase what trees can do for walkable neighborhoods. These street trees provide shade along sidewalks during the summer. This shade reduces direct sunlight and cuts down reflective heat lowering temperatures by 10 to 15 degrees in the summer. They also provide a buffer between traffic and the sidewalks. Multiple studies show that when streets are lined with trees traffic slows down. We are excited to see these trees grow and provide beauty for our community for generations to come.
