Rowan is a lover of nature! He enjoys everything outdoors including utilizing tree trunks, tennis ball recovery, and eating endless samples of nuts, berries, twigs, and even bark. He is named after the Northern European Rowan tree Sorbus aucuparia. The Rowan tree is nick named "the bird catcher" because of the abundance of berries the tree displays. Birds flock to it's branches to feed. Many times the Rowan tree is planted near the entry of homes to ward off evil. Rowan is one of the most familiar wild trees in the British Isles, and has acquired numerous English folk names including: Delight of the eye (Luisliu), Quickbane, Quickbeam, Quicken, Round wood, Sorb apple, Thor's helper, Whispering tree, Whitty, Wicken-tree, Wiggin, Wiky, Witch wood, Witchbane, and Witchen.

Rowan the dog enjoys meeting other dogs, meeting other humans, eating, sniffing, retrieving, swimming, and sleeping.

Coffee (where are you and what do you order): Back seat of the jeep, when no one's looking, I protract my tongue to it's fullest extent and boom, I lap a drink from a unattended mug in the front cup holder. Ouch! That stuff is hot! It always gets me.
